Evening

SOCIAL

Pre-Conference occurs the evening before the New Student Conference begins. It's a relaxing and fun social where new students and family members can mingle with Orientation Leaders, explore the Association of Former Students, and enjoy some light refreshments.

The incoming students can try on an Aggie Ring with their class year on it! There's also indoor games and a raffle! The OLs facilitate the activities for the new students and family members during the social.

CHECK-IN

TOURS

Check-In is the first program of each NSC and the only mandatory program AOLP hosts.  It will often be the new students' and family members' first impression of Texas A&M.  The purpose of check-in is to answer questions, hand out conference information, sell t-shirts, clear holds for admissions, and ease the incoming Aggies' minds.

Tours are designed to familiarize new students and family members with the Texas A&M campus.  Tour Guide Leaders will lead new students and their families on a 45-60 minute tour around campus that highlights the buildings they will be going to throughout their conference, as well as some of the history and traditions of the campus. Tours is an optional specialty group for OLs to join.

STUDENT

PANEL

TRACK

FAMILY

&

Family Track involves a dinner where Orientation Leaders get to interact and welcome family members to A&M. OLs answer and address questions and concerns family members have, and help facilitate conversation at the table. Family members are just as important as the new students, and FamTrack is a great way to make them feel comfortable!

Student Panel is one of the specialty groups that Orientation Leaders have the opportunity to join. Like Family Track, Student Panel is solely focused on answering family member-specific questions.

STUDENT

TRACK

New students are invited to participate in a free dinner and mingle with other new students along with the Orientation Leaders. After the dinner, the new students break into small groups led by Orientation Leaders and participate in Aggie Insights.

Aggie Insights is an informal meeting of one or two Orientation Leaders and a small group of new students, which allow new students to ask any questions they may have about student life at Texas A&M, traditions, class schedules, and Bryan/College Station in an all-student atmosphere (while their parents are at "Being an Aggie").

Orientation Leaders lead the groups, facilitate icebreakers, prompt questions, provide Howdy Introduction cards, and prepare postcards for Insights participants

CSI:

AGGIELAND

CSI: Aggieland is part of the Student Track evening program and an optional specialty group for Orientation Leaders to participate in. CSI stands for Campus Safety Issues and the goal of this program is to inform students of potential conflicts and/or issues that they may face throughout their college years. During this program, new students watch a combination of PSA videos and skits performed by our Orientation Leaders.

TRAILBLAZING

In the morning of Day 2 of the conferences, Orientation Leaders will guide the new students and their family members from Rudder Fountain to their college meeting where they will register for classes.
