AGGIE ORIENTATION LEADER PROGRAM

"Igniting the Spirit... One Conference at a time."

In 1977, Texas A&M realized a need to help students transition into college life. About 25 Peer Advisors were selected to help staff New Student Conferences (NSCs). In 1981, this group of Peer Advisors became a recognized student organization.

Over the years, Peer Advisors staffed NSC sessions and social activities to help students get to know one another. In 1988, this group of Peer Advisors became the Aggie Orientation Leaders. Their focus not only included staffing NSCs, but also developing passionate leaders.

The Aggie Orientation Leader Program (AOLP) has developed as a university sponsored student organization of over 150 members. They have adapted to the needs of more than 14,000 incoming students and over 16,000 of their family members and guests. Since 1977, their mission was and always will be, "Igniting the Spirit, One Conference at a Time."
